‘Adding value’ is the focus of NSA Sheep 2016
25th January 2016
The National Sheep Association (NSA) is forging ahead with exciting plans for NSA Sheep 2016, working to a theme of ‘adding value to the sheep industry’ - and this year NSA members get even more value, as it’s free for them to attend.
Phil Stocker, NSA Chief Executive, says: “NSA is keen to add value to membership packages, and one way we’ve done this is by offering free entry to NSA Sheep 2016. We hope everyone involved in the sheep sector will take advantage of this – and also take up the theme of adding value to their own businesses. The sheep sector is not exempt from increasing global volatility, so it is more important than ever to ensure your system is working to achieve the best possible output. This year’s event will focus on how the sheep industry can add value to help protect against unstable prices.”
NSA Sheep 2016, which has firmly positioned itself as the principal technical sheep event, will be held on Wednesday 27th July 2016 at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire.
Leading sheep industry experts, along with more than 250 trade stands, will be in attendance to deliver the latest information and advice, with a programme of free technical seminars, demonstrations and workshops scheduled throughout the day.
In line with the theme and new for this year, NSA will also be running a day of farm tours prior to the event. Phil explains: “The farm tour day on Tuesday 26th July is a fantastic addition. It gives people the opportunity to go on farms and see how other producers are adding value to their sheep enterprises at a practical level.”
The farm tour day, run in collaboration with Field Farm Tours, will depart from the Three Counties Showground on Tuesday 26th July 2016 and take in two local sheep farms. One is the home of Stuart Morris, who runs 1,000 pedigree ewes and specialises in mutton production to supply the local area.
NSA Sheep 2016 is an essential visit for anyone involved in the sheep industry, and the offer of free entry for members is new for this year’s event. Sign up in advance at www.nationalsheep.org.uk – and find more information on the event at www.sheepevent.org.uk.
