Farming Minister Stephen Morgan to headline NSA Breakfast Club at NSA Sheep Event
16th July 2026
Newly appointed Defra Farming Minister, Stephen Morgan MP, will headline this year's NSA Breakfast Club at NSA Sheep Event, giving sheep farmers a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the Government on the future direction of agricultural policy.
Taking place at 9am on Tuesday 28th July at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, the exclusive breakfast seminar will open the UK's premier sheep farming event with a discussion centred on the recently launched Farming Roadmap and what it could mean for the future of sheep farming.
Stephen Morgan will join NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker and NSA Chairman Pete Delbridge in conversation, discussing the Government's long-term vision for agriculture, the opportunities and challenges facing the sheep sector, and how policy can support productive, profitable and sustainable livestock farming.
Following the ministerial discussion, the conversation will continue with the NSA Breakfast Club Debate: Policy, promises and the future of farming. Chaired by Phil Stocker, the panel will include Farmers Weekly Editor Andrew Meredith, Farmers Guardian Head of News and Business Jane Thynne, Agri-business analyst Oliver McEntyre, and DAERA representative George Moffett.
The panel will explore how agricultural policy is evolving across the UK, examining the future of farm support, the development of initiatives such as Pathway, and what current political decisions could mean for sheep producers and the wider livestock industry.
NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker says: "We are delighted to welcome Farming Minister Stephen Morgan to NSA Sheep Event. With farming policy continuing to evolve, this is an important opportunity for sheep farmers to hear directly from the Minister about the government's ambitions for agriculture and to better understand how these plans may affect their businesses.
"NSA has always championed constructive dialogue between policymakers and farmers. Bringing together the Farming Minister, industry representatives and the farming press creates an ideal platform for informed discussion, ensuring the sheep sector has the opportunity to engage with those helping shape its future."
Stephen Morgan's appearance forms part of a wider seminar programme at the event tackling the biggest issues facing the UK sheep sector, from consumer confidence to future market opportunities.
