NSA pleased to welcome FCN as Charity Partner for NSA Sheep Event
6th May 2026
The flagship event of the National Sheep Association (NSA), NSA Sheep Event, returns this summer on Tuesday 28th July at the Three Counties Showground, Worcestershire.
For many years, NSA has supported an agricultural charity at its event and this year is pleased to be supporting the vital charity The Farming Community Network (FCN) as its charity partner for the 2026 event.
FCN is a voluntary organisation and charity supporting farmers, farming families and people in rural communities through difficult times and periods of change.
It has a network of more than 400 volunteers across England and Wales, many of whom are involved in farming or have close links with agriculture and therefore have a great understanding of the issues faced by farmers, farm workers and farming families. Its volunteers provide free, confidential support to anyone who seeks help, regardless of whether the issue is personal or business-related.
NSA Sheep Event 2026 will offer multiple opportunities to hear from the FCN team, including an open and honest chat as part of the NSA Sheep Event workshop programme.
A likely highlight of the event, FCN Head of Partnerships, Georgina Lamb will lead a panel discussion with the provocatively titled workshop: ‘I hate sheep - Convince me otherwise’ - a sure way of enticing an event full of sheep farmers into discussion, keen to champion their livestock species of choice!
FCN’s Regional Manager (South West) Stephen Dennis will be delivering a workshop on the topic of ‘sharing the future of our farms’ and nurturing the next generation.
Elsewhere, members of the FCN team involved in the Rural Communities Cancer Project, a UK-wide partnership between FCN and Macmillan Cancer Support, will also be available with information and support.
Free blood tests will be offered to attendees throughout the day to assist with prostate cancer diagnosis. Bookings will need to be made in advance; FCN will be sharing details about how to book via its social media channels on the lead up to the event.
This project is helping to improve the support available to those living with cancer in farming communities and rural areas.
With farmers often particularly at-risk of certain types of cancer including skin cancer, prostate cancer or cancers caused by exposure to carcinogens, NSA is pleased to be able to support this important cause.
NSA Communications Manager Katie James comments; “As the saying goes - ‘we all know someone’, whether that is someone affected by a worrying cancer diagnosis or someone struggling with poor mental health. FCN offers a crucial service supporting farmers affected by both these issues as well as many more. All at NSA are pleased to be supporting the charity this year and hope visitors to the event take a moment to engage with the advice on offer - it could be the most important conversation you have all day.”
Ahead of the NSA Sheep Event, NSA will be raising funds for FCN as it brings together industry for an evening’s celebration at the pre-event dinner, including a spectacular raffle with an array of excellent prizes.
